A Tipi is the traditional tent of the native North Americans, as found on the plains of the 'Wild West' in the 1700’s.
It is constructed with a number of poles crossed and tied at the top, with a canvas covering. A fire can be lit in the middle for warmth and cooking, the smoke passing through an opening at the top of the tent. Flaps on the outside of the tipi direct the smoke depending on the prevailing wind.

Our tipi is set well away from the rest of the farm, secluded and quiet, looking out towards the small River Marteg, but several yards from it and sheltered by a small copse of trees.
For a holiday stay it will provide a unique but basic style of accommodation along with the opportunity to get away from it all in the most beautiful of surroundings.
It will sleep up to eight people, and you can either cater for yourselves cooking on the chiminiere in the tipi or barbeque outside. A double burner camping gas stove is also available. Alternatively we can cater for you. The tipi is fully equipped and for 2012 we will be offering matresses, so all you need to bring is your sleeping bag.
Toilet and shower facilities are also being developed for campers and tipi dwellers. We hope to have these ready for the start of the 2012 season in April.
